How to move devices from Old Hive manager to new Hive manager NG

Hi Everyone,

The scenario is that the current network switches and APs are connected to the old hive manager.
I would like to migrate them to the new hive manager NG instance.
Can I do this without changing any settings and with minimum network downtime?

Thanks in advance

Hi Kavinda,

You can migrate APs between HM Classic and NG with minimal downtime. I would recommend following this guide.

Kind regards,

Nathaniel

Hi ,

Thanks for the guide.

I have HiveManager Enterprise  6.8r7a at the moment and would like to migrate to HiveManager NG. Do I have to recreate all the network policies again?

Hi Joon,

As it currently stands, the network policy will have to be recreated. This is due to the configuration items and architecture being very different between the two platforms, meaning it is not possible to perform a direct copy/paste of network policies. We are looking at ways to improve this transition but as of today, you will need to recreate that part of the configuration.

Kind regards,

Nathaniel
