HiveOS and HiveManager version 6.1r2 has been released

Aerohive is pleased to announce the availability of HiveManager and HiveOS version 6.1r2.

HiveManager version 6.1r2 takes network management (both cloud-based and appliance-based) to another level with a refreshed look and feel and multiple usability improvements. Application Visibility and Control gains more functionality with new widgets of top applications automatically discovered out of the box, the added support of Microsoft Lync, and the ability for you to define custom applications. HiveOS introduces lengthier RADIUS user names, simultaneous RADIUS and ID Manager proxy support, various bug fixes, and many other enhancements requested by our customers.

Version 6.1r2 Highlights

HiveManager Usability

  • New look and feel for a refreshed appearance of the HiveManager interface colors and button layouts

  • Simplified Device Update - a new one-click option to upgrade the Aerohive device firmware, application signatures, and device configuration

  • Integrated device management by including device inventory and administration operations (Add/Remove/Modify) within HiveManager

  • Dashboard UI improvements

  • Better capturing and visibility of captive web portal information

AVC (Application and Visibility Control) Improvements

  • New widgets added to Applications Perspective that visualize automatically discovered top applications out of the box, in addition to existing widgets of manually selected watchlist applications

  • Custom application definitions for use in QoS and firewall rules and for detecting proprietary or home-grown applications

  • Microsoft Lync support

HiveOS Improvements

  • Support for both RADIUS proxy and ID Manager proxy on the same AP at the same time

  • RADIUS user names up to 128 characters long
