Hivemanager UI improvement suggestion: "Group By" sorting in AP monitoring/configuration

It would be a helpful ui feature to be able to go to the Hivemanager monitoring or configuration screen for "access points", and be able to group access points by tag, location, map, hiveos version, etc into expandable/shrinkable and selectable groups.

I'm probably not the first customer to suggest this, but I couldn't find a post about it anywhere else.

Eric, have you looked at the Filter option in the left-side of the screen?

No I haven't (until now). Thanks!

This will certainly meet my needs (but I still think a group-by dropdown would be cool) :)

This filter does work great for APs, but not so much for clients. Can you add a category for filtering by building?

thanks

Monitor view:
You can filter clients at a building through the topology (select folder, building or floor) in the filter control. Filters for viewing Clients and APs are maintained separately.

Dashboard:
Additionally, you can also view the top clients by usage, OS type, Tx/Rx time etc from the dashboard through the topology group which is expandable/collapsable.

If you can tell us your use-case and/or what you are trying to achieve, we can certainly consider that as part of future enhancements.

Reply to Monitor View...

I must be doing something wrong.....the only way I can get a filter setup for a building is if I move a building into a folder. I can then select that newly created folder and filter the clients. Just seems like an unnecessary extra step, which in turn creates an extra icon on my map that has nothing in it.

Think I will give tech support a call and figure out what what's going on.

Since you can group buildings into folders in the Map tab, it would be nice to be able to view all APs within the folder. When monitoring, I'd like to be able to look at all APs in the facility rather than have to look at each floor individually. Currently, if you filter by location and choose the main folder (rather than a map), you don't see any APs.
