HiveManager NMS Virtual Appliance 3

I downloaded the .ISO media but unable to find any .exe or .msi. What am I doing wrong?

Where have you got this ISO from?

If you, for example, wanted HiveManager 6.6r1, download the appropriate file from Aerohive's website that contains the virtual appliance image for a new installation:




These are VMware images that you can run in VMware. (An appropriate VMware host is required.)

In the case of the .vmx format, it is compressed within a RAR file so you need to extract it first.

I got the iso from the Aerohive reseller. Hmmm, Thank you for your help, I ll try to find the correct iso.

VMware is the only officially supported way of running Aerohive's virtual appliance.

Player Pro should be adequate for this, Workstation is also available for not much more. They're not too expensive and there's a trial.

Workstation would be more appropriate for a long running VM than Player Pro actually.

Using Hyper-V is not officially supported. You may want to read:

I had a customer who deployed HiveManager on VMWare Player and had nothing but problems.  I lost count of how many times they rang to say their settings had been lost.  I strongly advise against using Player.

Fair enough. Are you sure it wasn't due to something that they were doing though?
