I had an Aerohive meeting today and been told in september (offcours not yet with full functionallity)
Maybe someone from Aerohive can confirm this?

This has been released. If you have access to support.aerohive.com, you should be able to download it.

You need to have vSphere Essentials to configure IP/DNS/Hostname. These need to configured using vCenter Server (part of vSphere Essentials). There's no command line interface.

For an in-placed upgrade, anyone succeeded to upgrade from 6.6r1 ? On the Update Software page, after Image Upload is finished, it'll return:

      The image file is invalid. It might be damaged or was not officially released by Aerohive.

Mine is 64bit Virtual Appliance with RAM added to 16GB/4vCPU according to the Release Notes, thanks!

HiveManager is available as an on premise installation, however system updates run two months behind the HMOL equivalent.
