I'm doing a wireless system in a school, using HiveAP 230 and HMOL.
There are some weird problem I have.
1) some of the AP connect to HMOL, some not. I use CLI and I can ping from HiveAP to HMOL.
2) with APs are connected. I can't download firmware to APs.

Any help and suggestion is welcome.

Thank you in advance

To download firmware to APs you need to make sure that TCP port 22 is open on your firewall from the APs to your HMOL server.

Hoang - first I would try and telnet to the URL of your VHM(HMOL) via TCP 22
telnet hm-uswest-038.aerohive.com 22
That will show if its open outbound from your Subnet
Lastly check your FW

I tried with your way, and it has error above.
So to be clear again, I should open UDP(12222), TCP(22).
Is there any port should I open?

Thanks

If you selected Telnet as the protocol then this result implies that TCP port 22 is not open.

There is an excellent CLI utility called TCPING that will advise if the TCP port is open and, if it is not, give an error code indicating what the issue may be.

It is a CLI command so you need to run it in a command prompt window.

I did it, here is the update:
From the screenshot above, the TCP(22) is open. But the UDP(12222) not open.
Please correct me if I'm wrong

The command should be tcping hm-aus-024.aerohive.com 22

If you use the command telnet hm-aus-024.aerohive.com 12222 you should see "SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_4.3".

Thanks Crowdie,
Below is the screenshot that I test:
1) telnet hm-aus-024.aerohive.com 22
2)tcping hm-aus-024.aerohive.com 12222
3)tcping hm-aus-024.aerohive.com 22
4) telnet hm-aus-024.aerohive.com 12222

Please correct me if I'm wrong, the port 22 is Open, but port 12222 not Open.

If I correct, I can confirm with them about that.

Thanks
