Heatmap Generation

Here's a couple far out questions for those in the audience.

We've been rolling-out APs for a school district lately.  One thing I've noticed is slowness when generating heatmaps in HMOL.  The higher number of APs on a map, obviously, would generate a slower load time.  A couple of maps are setting around 40-50 devices; some are under 20.  We're rolling this out for eventual 1:1 / BYOD in [for starters] the High School and Jr. High.  The remaining elementary schools are wired for 1:1, but have APs staggered and downed-power for level coverage.

My questions are:
  • Has anyone else really seen this?  I've reached a point of being logged out before the maps have completed displaying fully.
  • Where does the generation latency exist?  Is it all on the HM server, or is it passed (via POST) to the client and I'm just needing a beefier graphics card (let's face it, the on-board Intel cards do suck - almost as bad as their wireless :D ).
