Heat Map is not accurate

We are using Hivemanager NG build version 12.8.0.11 with AP250s and when I am looking at my heat map in one particular location the signal strength is not reflected accurately.  It is a large field house and when looking at the map the signal only covers about a quarter of the room.  I physically went to the location and I got a good strong signal through out the entire room.  Any idea why my heat map is not showing the true signal strength?

Michael, by default this is a pure prediction, based on the information given: map scaling, placement and type of walls you draw onto the map, AP installation height and floor attenuation for that floor (If you have more floors with APs and have place them) and the minimum dB you still want to display (the value top right of the heat map). You should also adjust the channel width and select the right frequency band you want to look at - by default it's set to 5 GHz, while you are probably measuring 2.4 which is less attenuated by walls and other objects.

You can also change the global map settings (cogwheel icon top right) to "Calibrate heat-maps", but then you need several APs that will then measure each other. Then you get much more accurate results, but without it's just a guess by the software, based on above parameters.

Hope this helps.
