GRE Tunnel for roaming Printers

Hi Guys, we are looking to for a solution for a few wireless printers we have. Our WiFi network is segregated into 6 vlans across our campus. We need some mobile printers to tunnel back to a particular vlan so they always obtain the same IP address. I am sure we can do this with gre tunneling but we're unsure of the configuration. Can anyone help?

Many thanks in anticipation.
Kind regards

Hi Phill,

Fairly simple to do via tunneling, we do it for certain ssids to land them at setup portals or for guest access. We're using an AP250 as an end point with the radios off and the required vlans trunked to the AP. You also need to ensure that udp port 3000 is open between the different ap subnets.

We defined a GRE Policy which basically tunnels all networks to our endpoint. We than apply this policy to the user profile clients in the selected ssids will get. You should be able to assign a user profile for your printers and enable the tunneling there. I've attached a couple of slightly redacted screen shots to show the two parts of the config. After defining the profile you can simply select it in the reuse tunnel policy part of the user profile config. We're on NG but I believe it's similar in classic.
