We would like to view the TZSP data from aerohive. However, I did not manage to get this data.
What did I do:
- Enabled a new location server with following settings:
- Checked: Ekahau and Other Location Servers Using the Tazmen Sniffer Protocol
- Rate Threshold for tags: 1000
- Port: 8011
- Multicast MAC address: 01188E000000
- Programmed a small application that accepts TCP connections and logs all data that enters.

Am I forgetting something? Is there some kind of tutorial for this?
Kind regards for any solution or option I should check again.

Bob,

What are you trying to do with the TZSP data? If you're looking for remote sniffing capability, we actual work directly with Wireshark as a "remote interface".

Andrew McTaggart wrote a great post on how to use the remote sniffer here: http://community.aerohive.com/aerohiv...

Cheers,

Tash,

I'm trying to implement a custom location server. So, I'm interested in rssi measumements and angle measurements.

Is this possible with that sniffing tool?

Kind regards and thanks for the quick response,
Bob

If you revert to HiveOS version 3.5r2 (yes, ancient) you likely get data.

Wireshark capture:

Next HiveOS release (likely) this month should allow tzsp to flow again ...
