FYI: "Clone" a device missing in HMOL 6.0r2

if using HiveManager Online (Enterprise 6.0r2), the "Clone" a device button is not available. If you view HTML source, you can see that the Clone button is commented out in the device configuration page in 6.0r2.
I logged a support case today, and it was pushed to an internal enhancement request to bring this "Clone" a device feature back to the configuration screen...hopefully in a point release.
In the meantime, if you relied on cloning versus Auto Provisioning for new devices, you are out of luck.
In our organization's deployment workflow, we prefer cloning a device, rather than auto provision, so if anyone knows of a workaround to get the Clone device feature, please post.

Any word when this clone button will be added back in? I'm trying to roll-out a bunch of AP's this month, and the clone feature was essential! Help us aerohive!

Lets discuss your needs offline so that we can work on addressing it in appropriately in the product.

Just checking, it's been gone for months, is this Clone feature coming back? Is Clone still commented out in 6.1r1 (HMOL, in Enterprise mode)?
What is the expected re-introduction date for this previously available feature?
No mention of the clone feature removal in documentation or release notes.

I find it frustrating that almost everything else in HiveManager can be cloned, policies, SSIDs, rules, etc, but not the device configuration.

Our needs are as follows: per the HiveManager HELP:
"Cloning a device configuration is an efficient method for provisioning devices with similar configurations. Select the check box of a New or Managed Device that you want to clone, and then click Clone. The Device Configuration dialog box appears with the cloned settings. Change the host name and node ID in the cloned configuration, modify other elements in the configuration as necessary, and then click Save."
We wish to continue using the Clone feature as described, so we do not have to rely on auto-provisioning alone, or have to create from scratch and check multiple screens/config areas.

Thank you

Hi,

In 6.1r1, we have actually made it easier for you to add your devices and/or import a list of devices directly into HiveManager, which has made the clone feature obsolete and therefore no longer part of the roadmap going forward. As another improvement, in a future release, we plan to further streamline the capability of managing your devices by automatically displaying your inventory of devices. Each of these enhancements was developed with the goal of making the management and configuration managing of devices even easier than it was before. More information on the process for adding or importing devices can be found at:

Thanks

To clarify and reopen this discussion, I do not desire the clone feature to add or import new devices, I want to clone an existing, known-good device setup.
I fail to see how importing devices makes the clone feature obsolete...they are not related. However, if you made it possible to EXPORT a device setup, that may be the same as clone, assuming I could then import that same device setup into a new or spare device.
After using HMOL 6.1r2 for a while, I still miss the clone a device config feature, can you bring it back?
