I know the straight answer is a no, but trying to push my luck a bit further. Has anyone had luck with trying to extract Social Login client data (connected clients) from the Monitor page (even screen scraping)??? I have a customer who is really after this.

Strange. Nick I saw your reply on mail, but coming to the portal it says 0 replies.

Anyway;
No I havent thought about syslog, two reasons, 1. I didnt know the social Login info is logged in Syslog(i.e specifically social media related info such as gender, age group, email, friends count etc)? I thought it only keeps the CWP details, which I collect via the event logs from VHM. 2. The customer is a retail and dont have much IT resources, so running a syslog and maintaining that wouldnt go down well :(

I suggested looking at Syslog to see what, if anything, showed there. I do actually think it's unlikely (due to the layering going on here) that such information will get back to HiveOS.

Hi Kushar,

Unfortunately the ability to export social login information is unavailable due to licensing restrictions with Facebook etc.

We do partner with other social analytical solutions such as Cloud4Wi which provide various methods to export social login information (this is not included in the Aerohive Freemium version, only Basic and Premium).

More info on Cloud4Wi here: http://www.cloud4wi.com/resources

Hi Nathaniel,

Thanks for clarifying this. BTW I had to fight hard with Xirrus to win a recent deal as they have claimed (and demo'd) they have the capability to extract the client info from their 'Social Login' (which I told the customer would be from Purple WiFi, but the customer was kind enough to send me the BOM and it was only Xirrus, no Purple WiFi subscription). To make things worse they have shown that they can extract both Social login & Self Reg CWP records from one report.

It really depends on the use case how important it becomes, and in my case, one is a upmarket retailer and the other is a events facility chain; both wanting to give free guest access and use the emails collected for email campaigns. :)

Cloud4Wi is a great product but for someone who is keen on social login only value they see is collecting emails (at least for who I pitched). And thats all they want. so they dont see value in investing on Cloud4Wi yet. May be Im not pitching Cloud4Wi properly :)

I understand if its about FB licensing, its not as easy as developing the feature, but I'd love to see at least the capability to just download the list as a CSV.  And add Self Reg CWP logins to that; that will be great !!! :)
