I want to make sure I understand the question.

Steven,
Are you asking what information HiveManager can send to you about events on your network, or whether it can notify you when new releases of HiveOS and/or HiveManager become available?

If the former, they are basically human-readable versions of the same messages that can be sent to a syslog server (I'll paste in an example below).

If the latter, you can tell when new releases are available and that we are comfortable enough to recommend them to all customers by looking in the upper right corner of your HiveManager console -- we will "fly a bee" there to notify you.

Here's an example email from HiveManager informing of an event:

From: hiveman@kouri.com
Date: December 30, 2013 at 19:27:01 PST
To: mike@kouri.com
Subject: Device kouri-home-br200: wifi0 interface client 2818:78ce:0d47 airtime consumption restore threshold:30 current:0

Device kouri-home-br200: wifi0 interface client 2818:78ce:0d47 airtime consumption restore threshold:30 current:0

Event

Event Type: wifi0
Trap Type:
Device ID: 08EA440BFE40
Device Name: kouri-home-br200
Time: 12-30-2013 19:27:01
Message: wifi0 interface client 2818:78ce:0d47 airtime consumption restore threshold:30 current:0.

Hi,

I have actually two questions:
1. How to notify me when a new release is available, via SNMP TRAP or email
2. What information does the email option "system" provide? Screenshot attach.

Steven,
Our Tech Support team will post an announcement here in HiveNation and our Cloud Operations team will send emails to registered customers informing them of the availability of a new release. In many organizations the person who is listed as the registered user is actually in purchasing and doesn't have any idea what to do with those emails, so we also follow up later with "flying the bee" in the upper right corner of the HiveManager console to let the actual operators know it is available. We do not generate any SNMP traps or emails from HiveManager for this.

Honestly, I have never personally encountered a System level email alert. I believe they are OS-level and hardware-level alerts (fan speed too low, power-supply failure, etc.) that are outside of HiveManager and HiveOS purview but are still important for you to know.
