Wondering if it's possible to implement an email notification in HiveManager when failover from Primary to Backup WAN occurs so that the end user knows

  • that they have an issue with the Primary WAN they need to address
  • that they are using a portion of their USB modems data pool (if applicable)
Currently, we're piloting the Interface event notification but we need more granular control over which interfaces would be included. As it stands right now it's relatively spammy when all interfaces are grouped into one checkbox, leading to overly concerned end users. This is especially true of reboots since all interfaces bounce.

It may also be more useful to tie this to wanif_mon than to the interface itself, so that it triggers identically to the track IP policy.

Although I only limited experience with Primary and Backup WAN's in my deployment of AH. I can see where you are coming from Steven. It's the sort of simple feature that would streamline the administration of a business critical service.

Any granularity added to the existing HMOL interface alerts would be great, in a large HiveOS estate, the current interface alerts become useless as there are too many to filter out the real problems. Even if we can choose between eth vs wifi vs wan interfaces, that would be a start...
