Does an AP370 require a power supply to boot up

I have a customer who would like to use the AP370 model.

I believe someone from Aerohive in passing mentioned to him that the AP370 sometimes will not power on with PoE connectivity on its own. He is under the impression that an individual power supply will need to be provided (resulting in running a 110 outlet to the AP where it is mouinted as well).

Is this true?

Also, do both ports on the AP370 provide PoE connectivity?

Ummm, no, that's not accurate. There have been reported problems with negotiating PoE with specific 3rd party switches leading to the AP370 not getting sufficient power, but I think someone extrapolated too far and assumed it was a generic problem.

Yes, you can supply PoE to the AP370 over either or both ethernet ports.
