DNS server isn't responding

Hi, I'm a tenant in an apartment complex that uses AeroHive Networks. I've had an issue all day where I'm connected to the network, but with no internet connection. I've tried flushing the DNS, messing with winsock, and changing the addresses for IP and DNS. Still nothing. I'm using Windows 10, and as far as I know, no bills are outstanding. Thank you in advance!

Try ipconfig /all, see if you can ping the DNS server, make sure you are getting a valid ip address (i.e. not 169.anything or 0.0.0.0), reboot the PC, make sure the wpa key is correct.  Check with the neighbors - if everyone's having the same problem, call the management company.

I pinged both of the addresses listed, both timed out with 100% packet loss. My neighbor didn't answer her door...sent an email to AeroHive, and I suppose I'll need to ask the front office tomorrow.

Paige, this doesn't seem like an AH issue. However, it seems like it is a DNS issue. You can still keep a dynamic address, but you can set static entries for DNS. You can try a public DNS server like 8.8.8.8.

Here is how to fix the DNS Sever Isn’t Responding Error In Windows

1- Try connecting to an alternative device from the Wifi settings at extreme bottom right of the desktop. Now try reloading the webpage to know whether the previous device was causing the problem.

2- Check whether the connection you currently use, causes the same DNS error in any other computer or smartphone. This helps you know whether the problem is with your device.
