Hi everybody,

We have AP 121. Our devices connect perfectly to wifi network but in random way they don't have internet connectivity, with the lan they have connectivity. There are times that they need time to have internet connection, but other times at the first time, they have internet connection. We think that in the laptops the problem is worst than with the smartphones. The version that we have is 6.1r6.1779 signature 3.1.6. We don't have wips activated. Do you have any idea?

Best regards and thanks,

Claudia

Claudia, the question is not that clear. Can the clients sometime connect to the internet or totally not?

If the clients can connect to the LAN but not to the wan I rather think it is a network service issue (DNS, Firewall ACL's, ...). Are there firewall settings configured on the AP's?

It seems a network issue but in the two sides at same time it' not normal.

A network issue like this is hard to solve without further troubleshooting. Did you check the Aerohive logs? An additional troubleshoot is to use a packetcapture tool like wireshark, on a wireless interface to check the wireless frames (you can learn a lot like the authentication and association or de-association proces, see the probe requests and answers,...).

We have solved the problem doing the next:

The ports where we have the Ap's connected are tagged only to the vlan's which they work. We have taken off the VLan where we have our DHCP and DNS servers and nowadays all works.
