Dell N1524P in hivemanger Agent Alarms: Authentication failure has been detected

I have a dell N1524P switch enrolled in hivemanger NG
every minute or so it is giving the alarm minor, Agent Alarms, Authentication failure has been detected.
When I try push an update to the switch it gets to 30% and stalls, eventually the update fails.

Has anybody experienced an issue like this?

Hi Press

During the most recent HiveManager NG upgrade there was a change to the switch communication layer which may causing what you see.

Are you able to reset the switch to factory defaults and push a complete new configuration?

Let me know if this resolves or not.

Thanks

Hi, I have now reset to factory, after performing a firmware update to the latest version (followed all instructions in the release).
I did the initial configuration and the switch was found by hive manager.
However when pushing the switch configuration from hive manager it is getting stuck at 30% and eventually failing.
Is there something I need to enable on the switch? or is it likely a issue with the hive manager config?
Just looking for ideas on what to try next

Thanks

It is worth noting that I am getting the Alarm as follows still

MinorAgent Alarms
Authentication failure has been detected.

Is there anyway to get more information about this alarm?

Hi Press

What does 'show hivemanager status' show on the Dell switch?
Are you using HMNG cloud or on-prem solution? What version if on-prem?  I previously assumed you were using cloud with my first reply but if you could confirm.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Press

I think it might be best for you to open a support case for this issue where you can provide the switch tech support data for us to review.  If you do this and let me know the number I will take a look.

Depending on your location, either you have direct support access or via your Aerohive reseller.

Hi Press,

Did you upgrade the HiveManager Agent after upgrading the image of the N1524P?
After upgrade clean the HiveManager user-apps like below, you have to reboot the switch again and you should be back in business again.

console#application stop hiveagentconsole#delete user-apps/ah_ha.conf_s
Delete user-apps/ah_ha.conf_s ? (y/n) y
console#delete user-apps/hiveagent_pr_s
Delete user-apps/hiveagent_pr_s ? (y/n) y
console#delete user-apps/ah_ha.conf
Delete user-apps/ah_ha.conf ? (y/n) y
console#delete user-apps/hiveagent_pr
Delete user-apps/hiveagent_pr ? (y/n) y
console#delete user-apps/hiveagent
Delete user-apps/hiveagent ? (y/n) y

console#reload

i did perform this process, however i did it before the firmware upgrade (I believe this is how it is described in the dell upgrade notes)

Should I try it again now? will these processes auto install after a restart?

Yep, you should do it after the upgrade. So, give it a try again.

so i tried the above and got the same result, note i got no hive manager connection until I reinstalled the latest firmware.

When trying to push a config from hivemanager NG it still just getting to 30% and then stalling(eventually failing)

using the command show hive agent status (show hivemanager status doesn't seem to work) i get the following.

Hi Press,
The only resort I see now is to log a case at Dell ProSupport.

I have a brand new N1548P and have the exact same problem fresh out of the box. Fresh push gets to 27%, subsequent pushes get to 30%. Polling data from the switch is updating in HMNG correctly.

I have both Dell and Aerohive Tier 3 support pulling their hair out on this one for me.

Guys,

What configuration are you pushing? Are you changing management VLANs? Is the switch losing network connectivity? If, at the time of a failure, you console in - what do you see?

Thanks,
Gary
