The first person who set up Aerohive at our organization is gone. I want to delete her account, but get the message "Default User cannot be removed." How do I change the name on the default back to something generic?

Is your HiveManager online (i.e. you access it through the https://myhive.aerohive.com URL) or on-premise?

With an HMOL (HiveManager Online) you cannot remove the default user but you can do the following:

  • Change the default user's password so that user cannot login.
  • Create a new "Configuration and Monitoring" administrator with your E-mail address.  In the HMOL this is done in the Administrators area (Home -> Administration -> Administrators -> Administrators).
You will now be able to log into the HMOL using your E-mail address and have the same access as the default user.

For this reason I recommend using a generic E-mail address, such as wireless@<company>.com, for the default HMOL administrator.

I would also recommend logging a case with Aerohive Support to get your E-mail address added to the VHM information as the CC E-mail address.
