CWP Registration - Manager Approval Feature Request

I would like to see the option of selecting a manager (by email address) for the approval, rather than allow the whole domain to authorize (though the option should be available).

In addition, the CWP should reflect properly so that there is no field for "Approving manager" when a single manager is the go-to person.

Good point. I've heard the same thing from customers when telling them about this feature—they wan't to able to determine that themselves, and not allowing everyone in their domain to authorize new credentials.

Jeremy, As you probably know we have internal-to-AP CWP functionality, external CWP functionality where we redirect a third-party system such as Zenreach or Cloud4wi, and hybrids where we can host the CWP pages locally to the AP and use external authentication mechanisms.

Which of these were you using?

I'm on HMOL, so i'd like to leverage the built in cloud based authentication that's already built into it.

This is a feature I would like to see to. Our client only wants the service desk to authorise registration requests. Seems a simple thing to choose either a domain or send all requests to a specific service desk account without having to get the request to add the approvers email address in. Assume you can't do this in IDM either

Thank you for the feedback, this enhancement is planned in our roadmap and you should see this feature in the NG in a couple of months

Sooo... how we doing on this? Seems like feature requests are falling on deaf ears, and nothing is getting traction. NG about to get pulled or something?

While we are waiting, here's a workaround:

Using the CWP index.html as a template, modify the field for the approving employee/manager to statically assign an email address, and hide the field. (Some fields may vary depending on your CWP, this is an example)

Original:
<input id="field4" class="text-input VISITING" name="visiting" maxlength=128 type="email" required/>

Custom:
<input id="field4" class="text-input VISITING" name="visiting" maxlength=128 type="hidden" value="approvalgroup@company.com" required/>

Have the email address be either the single person you want to approve, or a distribution group/alias so you don't have to keep modifying the html file. Save as custom.html, upload, and select as your main page.

NG upgrade came and went, still no implementation of this feature request. 2nd request I've been told would be implemented, but wasn't. My faith in Aerohive has waned.

I'll just give this a bump as one of my customers also wants this feature. Especially with the distribution group I'd like to see this feature in a future version of hm ng.

We would like to see this as well, having anyone in the domain approve access doesn't work for us.
