Creating new PPSK users

When creating new permanent users (PPSK) with inbuilt user manager, the AP Audit status changes from green to red.

The image above shows that a new user has been created when hovering over a red icon.
However, when I click the red Audit status icon it reports the delta comparison found no changes. usually when this happens the red turns to green after refreshing the screen. So I wouldn't expect that a new upload is necessary.

After adding a new user, do I need to upload the network policy to all APs? Or does Hive manager already add the new user to the APs automatically?

Sorry for the simple question!
cheers

you will need to push the config to all the ap's before they will be able to use the PPSK keys. This will not require a reload so you should be good just by pushing the configs to the AP's. Th red exclamation point means the configs on the AP don't match the network policy config.

Oh thanks. I'm expecting this might not be ideal for the local administrator at the school who creates the occasional permanent account, as I was hoping there is a way that doesn't require the low-level-administrator to have to log into the ConfigMonitoring side of hive manager to upload the configs. I was hoping this person would only require a user-manager admin login.
Can this be done via "Activating' the new user. I'm not sure what activating is for, since the user is able to go online successfully without being activated.
thanks,

You can issue a pool of automatically generated keys that last forever, and append that local user group/PPSK group to your SSID. That way the keys will be pushed all at once to all your APs, and be ready to use when they are assigned to a new permanent user. The PPSK key can be assigned via user manager, like other automatically generated keys. You can make a new user manager operator account if you want, to make sure the permanent keys can only be issued via someone authorized to do so.

Create a New Local User Group, type=auto generate, period = always

Then bulk create a handful of new keys:

You will need to push the new keys to your APs when you create them, but not when you assign them. One last note, you can configure a HiveManager to only push keys, instead of a delta config.
