Configuring Aerohive AP's to authenticate with LDAP using a RADIUS proxy

Hi -

I'm trying to configure authentication for our network against our OpenLDAP server.

I watched the video here, which makes it sound pretty straightforward:
http://boundless.aerohive.com/technology/how-aerohive-directory-integration-works.html

I've clicked the "Help" link in the top right and found a page called "RADIUS Proxy" (Configuration > Advanced Configuration > RADIUS Proxy), but clicking on it does nothing (All other pages load fine).

The posts with screenshots in this forum on the subject appear to be over 3 years old, and the Hivemanager interface has changed significantly since then.

We're using have manager Express v6.5r1, and have an AP330 and 4 AP141s.

Any advice gratefully received.

Kind Regards,

Neil Saunders

the AP330 will be your RADIUS? Have you configured this AP to know it is a RADIUS?

Hi Aaron -

No, I've configured nothing yet as I can't find any instructions to tell me how to do so.

Thanks,

Neil

Gotcha! I think the Guided Configuration is the easiest way to get this done.  You will need to create a SSID that has the option "Enable Captive Web Portal" checked off in its settings.  After that the SSID will have a new icon (blue with three horizontal bars) to allow configuration of the web portal.  Select from the pull down menu in that configuration to have "user authentication" as your means of access to the SSID.  Continue with any other settings and save.  You should now have another new icon to allow you to define and edit the IP of your radius..... It's been a long time but I think this should at least get you in the right place?

There is also the "service settings" in the particular AP's configuration where you define the RADIUS
