Clients (randomly) losing WAN connection when connected to an AP (and roaming issues)

Hi,

Sometimes we are experiencing issues that clients are connected to the AP but can't reach their gateway ( and thus don't have internet access).

We had this issue for a while, but we were also experiencing issues because of an outdated firewall. in the meantime we've upgraded to a proper firewall.
But we're still getting these issues.

Also our Iphone users are experiencing a lot of issues with roaming (people report that it won't automatically reconnect the devices and will forget their user credentials, so they have to log in manually). while Android devices (mostly) work just fine.

It appears you have a variety of issues. The first you mention, L2 connectivity but no ip address, might suggest a dhcp issue; usually a lack of available address space. The roaming issue; are you using HM "classic" or NG? I would track one of the iOS devices with client monitor to get a better look. Some additional information might be helpful; Again HM or NG, and which version, what model APs, what version of HiveOS, etc.?

Hi BJ,

The thing is with the first issue, is that the clients do have a valid IP configuration/dhcp lease.
As for the roaming issue, we're using Hivemanager-NG.
AP230's running hiveos 6.6r2a
And our HM-NG is running version 11.14.0.2

The silly thing is, now that i've made a forum post and a support case. i can no longer reproduce the error, usually i fix it by rebooting the AP and then it works for a couple of weeks.
It's been really weird, but so far all the issues we've been having seem to be temporarily fixed by rebooting the AP.

However this is not a permanent solution.
