I received numbers of email from HMOL, most of them point that station is deauthenticated from AP.
Is that because HiveAP or devices?
In here we only use PSK/WPA2/AES.
Is there anyone face this problem?

Thanks

Hi Tung,

This is probably because you have enabled email notifications for Authentication events. Every time a user turn off wifi or the device roam away you will receive an email saying user was de authenticated but its normal behaviour, not an issue unless some users complained saying they got de authenticated unexpectedly.

Follow the instruction below to manage email notifications.

Hey Ruwan,

We got one Aerohive AP which keeps on authenticating and deauthenticating. Rebooting is of no avail. Do you know why this is doing this?

04/28/2015 01:44:42 PM Station 0c77:1a1c:c298 is authenticated to 4018:b104:f614 thru SSID Guest AUTH
04/28/2015 01:44:10 PM Station 0c77:1a1c:c298 is deauthenticated from 4018:b104:f614 thru SSID Guest  AUTH
04/28/2015 01:43:55 PM Station 0c77:1a1c:c298 is authenticated to 4018:b104:f614 thru SSID Guest AUTH

It's been doing this throughout this morning.

Any idea?

Thanks in Advance

Hi Azey,

What is the AP model ?

1) For the reboot issue, upgrade APs to the latest version. If the reboots still occur after that please create a support case and provide netdumps and techdata. If you enabled some feature recently disable that and see whether the reboots were casued by that.

2) The deauthentication message you have posted is not necessarily an error, it just says that client was disconnected due to some reason. If you add the client mac address to client monitor it might show some clue about why the client was disconnected,

Thanks Ruwan!

I will check the monitor. Its an AP121. It's not rebooting. All I see is it keeps on throwing out the user and reconnects.

Hi Azey,
I can help you with that.
What type of authentication you configured for Guest SSID?
Are you saying that the HiveAP keep rebooting?

It's WPA2. No its not rebooting it keeps throwing out users by de-authenticating and authenticating again in quick succession. User see it as connecting and disconnecting.

It was working all ok previously.

Hi,
You use P-PSK for authentication and you enable Captive web portal, I think that's why. From what I know, the Captive web portal used to reauthenticated after 20mins if the users not active.
What I would do is look at configure of Captive web portal, look for re-authenticate option. And check you PPSK setup.
