Classic Hivemanager OVA and free ESXI?

I was tasked with seeing if I could get a classic hivemanager ova up and running on free ESXi 6.5. So far I have tried the ova's for 6.8r7 and 8.0r1.  Neither will work and state, "A required disk image was missing."

I saw a post where another user was attempting to do the same with NG and was told that the free ESXi would not work.  Is the same true for classic?

Thank you!

It should not be.  You should be able to stand up legacy 6 HM on virtually any VM platform.  I've run it on VirtualBox as well as the free VM Player with success in the past.

Hi,

So, the tricky bit with HMNG and ESXi is the OVF template and how you propagate the desired settings. If you use DHCP with a reservation for the HMNG VA and standard DHCP options, you should be able to circumvent the need to use OVF settings via the template.

With the Classic HM VA, OVF templates are not used so this does not apply.

Cheers,

Nick
