How the captive Portal works? Where the User will be authenticated? And one more thing, Who display the captive portal, is it the hivemanager??

HiveOS is responsible for intercepting HTTP requests to modify the response to redirect to a CWP.
There is no dependency on HiveManager.

Because of the position an AP has, they are able to MITM these requests.

It does not work for requests for HTTPS addresses.

It does so, I believe, by tying the authentication that occurs in the CWP to the MAC address of the client for the association. (There may be more to it than this, but it really doesn't matter.)

If you need actual security or reliability, you'll need to use PPSKs or 802.1X.
