Hi guys

When configuring a subnetwork for Branches, I am using DHCP to assign IP address, mask and gateway - all standard stuff, works fine.

My question is, does the built-in DHCP server allow me to issue multiple domain name suffixes to the wired & wireless clients? The field says "Domain Name" (0-32 characters) and the help mentions a "domain name" (singular)

What I require is multiple domain name suffixes, e.g.,,

is this possible?

At this time, you can only define one domain suffix per subnetwork. You can, however, define multiple subnetworks per Network, and use device classification tagging to assign a different subnetwork per site.

So let's say you have 100 branches that need to use, and 100 to need to use Set up a network with 2 subnetworks included (for example, and Set the Domain Name as on the first, and on the second. In each subnetwork, enable Select subnetworks based on classification rules, and set a tag value for each subnetwork ( on the first, on the second).

Then you just need to tag the devices that will use one subnetwork from the other. From the configuration > Devices > Routers page, multiselect all the devices that will get subnetwork 1, Modify and set Do the same for the other pool of devices.

In this way, the HiveManager will assign an IP range and domain name assignment based on the classifier tag on the device.

Hey Andrew

Many thanks for you informative reply. I can see how your workaround would achieve the objective, although given that the branches are already up & running and that we would need 3 domain suffixes, I'm not so sure I should start changing branch networks at this time

I would opt to wait for the future feature?! :-) thanks.

Hi Andrew,

Is it possible to delete a device tag that is formerly used?
When I choose for the value tag 1 of tag 2 it's full with old device tags that are not longer needed.

With kinds regards,
