Can a free AP reused in a productive environment (with license of course)?

I have got a free AP in a workshop session. All tested and we are now going to proceed with Aerohive Wifi rollout. I would like to reuse the free AP in our productive environment. Of course, it is more than fair to buy the official Access point License for the on-premise hive manager.
Our retailer told us, it is not possible to re-assign a free AP to a normal Aerohive environment.
Is this true?
Is this AP now elektronic waste at the end?

That's correct. you can't use the free ap in a production environment. Maybe you can use this AP at home with a single wpa key that never change ;-).

The point is: Aerohive cannot sell you licenses on hardware they gave out for free.

It comes with 3 years HMOL/NG, so we usually encourage our customers to use it as a dedicated test environment. Or to take it home...

Matthias, free AP CAN be used in production with a paid license. Please contact Aerohive sales and they will set you up.
