Bridge with mifi personal hotspot

At my office we are using a personal mifi hotspot as a failover Internet pipe. Basically the configuration is that a unifi ap is in bridge mode connected to the hotspot wirelessly and then plugged into the failover port on the router. I have AP230 and 230s available to use however I need to. The idea is that I connect one of the radios in bridge mode to the hotspot and put it on a seperate vlan, then take the same untagged port out of the switch to the failover port on the router. Is this doable, if so how? I'm wanting this to reduce interference and having another wireless network going.

As a side note I have an AP230 at home and a hotspot there. I'd like to do something similar but as the only isp connection.

Hi John,

From an Aerohive AP, you cannot associate as a client to another AP (to a BSS) to bridge.

Have you considered using one of Aerohive's BR200s?

Good Morning John,
The other issue that can present with the AP230's is that they can't route connections - such as the AP330/350 or BR100/BR200.

The BR200WP works well as a wireless bridge.  (Side note: moving forward it may be the only way the BR200WP will start to function since finding 'supported' USB modems is becoming increasingly more difficult).

Take Care,
Matt
