Bonjour Gateway - One way sharing

Is it possible to set the sharing on the Bonjour Gateway to be one way only?

ie I'd like to share services from VLAN50 to VLAN60 but I don't want the services in VLAN60 to be broadcast onto VLAN50?

As far as I can see it's both ways or no way, but hoping somebody will tell me I'm wrong!

Hi James,

The functionality to filter advertisements based on a filter rule list which includes source VLAN, destination VLAN, service, type and realm have been there since release 6.0.

Are you running an older release or am I missing something in your question?

Hi Roberto

I am running the free Bonjour Gateway v5.1r2. I think that's the latest available for free?

So this functionality was only added in v6.0? I suppose that explains why I can't see the option.

I believe (but may be wrong as I've never had the need to register for one!) that the free Bonjour Gateway is just an instance of a HiveOS VA limited by license to just the Bonjour Gateway functionality and therefore should in principle be upgradable to the latest release.

However I'm not sure what Aerohive's support/upgrade policy is for the free gateway though, perhaps an Aerohiver can chime in here?

If you can't go to a 6.0 release on the free one, you could purchase a HiveOS VA - not hugely expensive. Of course if you have one or more APs, you can use them as Bonjour Gateways instead of a VM.

Roberto is right.

Incidentally I just had a reseller toying with this and he's opted to purchase a HiveOS VA with HMOL so he could get to the latest version.

I would advise you to go for that, as you can then move your HiveOS VA to a Hivemanager you may already be using and let it benefit of any future upgrades.

I can confirm that the CVG Bundle will allow you to do this.
