How long will the APs keep a device association in its roaming database? Let's say a user roams away to an area covered by Cisco APs, then back to Aerohive. Will the original association be kept and how long? -Jim
Take a look at your SSID Settings, under Optional Settings, Advanced. In the scenario you describe I believe it's the Inactive Client Ageout parameter that would take effect. It defaults to 5 minutes, but you can adjust it to anywhere between 1 and 30 minutes.
Since you are roaming to a third-party device, I don't think the Roaming Cache Ageout applies, but honestly I am not certain about that.
