Assign static IP's through auto-provisioning

I use auto-provisioning a lot, as it makes it easy to deploy. I create everything using the serial numbers of the AP's and then let my installers go out and put them up. What I need is a way to assign static IP's to them as well. Here is my suggestion:

We use a CSV file to import the serial numbers, why not be able to also use another column that has the IP you want assigned to the AP serial number. You can import users with several columns of information, so why not for the AP's as well.

I see one issue being, what if you assign an IP to an AP and that IP is already in use and there is an IP address conflict. I am sure some kind of check or rollback to DHCP can be done to help prevent this.

We are currently scoping out this functionality with Product Management to enhance the functionality of the import function to include static IP/subnet/gateway fields, hostname, nodeid/MAC, and other fields.

Unfortunately, I don't have an ETA on this feature yet.

Thank for the reply.

That would be great. Being an Aerohive partner, it would make our deployments much easier and streamlined.

Looking forward to the "Product Management" that you have referred to.

Sam is correct, we are indeed considering this functionality. We generally don't discuss roadmap/timeframes on the community, but we are taking this feedback under consideration. :)
