AP not sending Radius packets to ID-Manager

Hi everyone!

We have the same issue in an HiveAP-320 (5.1r5). We are testing  an open SSID with ID Manager CWP authentication and the AP is not sending Radius packets to ID-Manager:

radsecproxy[1270]: resolvehostport: can't resolve auth.aerohive.com port 2083
radsecproxy[1270]: clientwr: resolve failed

We are testing with a PC (same IP and DNS) and we can connect to ID-Manager port.

Someone know this issue or it is this a known bug?

Kind Regards,

Miguel

If this persists, you should submit a support ticket to Aerohive Support.  We are making changes to the radsec election process but this would not affect your issue, unless you have a very large number of radius servers.

We are testing with an ap121 (5.1r5) and it is working fine:

radsecproxy[2181]: connecttcphostlist: trying to open TCP connection to auth.aerohive.com port 2083
radsecproxy[2181]: connecttcphostlist: TCP connection to auth.aerohive.com port 2083 up

The same issue with version 6.1r6 in AP320:
radsecproxy[1366]: resolvehostport: can't resolve auth.aerohive.com port 2083
radsecproxy[1366]: clientwr: resolve failed
Version:            HiveOS 6.1r6 release build1779

Hi again,

I finally got to update the hivemanager (6.1r6a) and AP320 (6.1r6). When I applied configuration to AP again, it was started to work fine.

But when AP is rebooted it returned to IDLE (IDM RUN state). One workaround is connect to AP and you type:

no aaa radius-server proxy radsec enable
aaa radius-server proxy radsec enable

These commands restarted the radsec process and AP is connected securely to the IDM server again.

I think that is a 320-340 HiveOS bug (support ticket is opened).

Regards,
