AP330 Eth1 doesn't come up on 6.6r1

Hi,

We got customer who is using AP330.  His AP330s are configured to use both ethernet ports, with different VLANs on each port (corporate - Guests). He found that the eth1 refused to come online when the AP was running 6.6.r1. The same AP's are working fine with both eth ports up on 6.2.

We are trying to figure out what problem/difference is between HM 6.6r1 and 6.2 ? All config is exactly the same and no changes has been made apart of different version of HM.

POE switch where AP's are connected is standard 802.3af. Is it necessary to use  802.3at for HM 6.6.1 to bring up both eth ports on 330 ?

Thanks
Szymon

Hi Szymon,

I cannot test this right now but a question; Are eth0 and eth1 both receiving PoE?

If only eth0 recieves PoE, is there still an issue?

Kind Regards,

Hi Gary,

Eth1 might be connected to port with POE capabilities / POE on port.

Would it matter if only eth0 can be use to power on AP330 from POE switch ?
Is port eth1 able to receive power from switch as well ?

Thanks

Hi Gary,

Did you get any chance to check this weird AP330 behavior ?

Thanks

Hi Szymon,

I have tested and what I have found is that.
  1. the AP cannot be powered via eth1 PoE
  2. in my test, both ports came up despite PoE being provided on both eth0 and eth1 (Expected)
  3. both ports came up with PoE on eth0 and eth1 and the mains supply (Expected)
My config on Eth1;
interface eth1 mode bridge-access
interface eth1 mac-learning enable

Hi Gary,

Thanks for those tests.
What PoE switch did you use to power on AP on port eth0, standard or + ?

Eth0 = 802.3af (switch)
Eth1 = 802.3at (pwr-inj)
