AP250 vs Chromecast

Hi there

I have a customer using AP250's who wants to be able to connect to their Chromecast devices across their guest network.  However they can't see the devices on the guest network although they can on the Corp network.  From a bit of googling about it seemed that the answer might be to turn on inter-station traffic but it would seem that this is already turned on.  Can anyone suggest anything else that might be causing this?

Hi Chris,

Firewall I would say. The default value for guest networks block private IP traffic.

For Chromecasts to work:
  • The Chromecast must be in the same VLAN as the wireless client.
  • Inter-Station Traffic must be allowed on the SSID(s) the Chromecast/wireless client is authenticated to.
  • The firewall policies for the user profile(s) for the Chromecast and wireless client must allow the devices to communicate with each other.
