We experienced several occurrences that Clients were reported to be connected via wire, instead of wireless in the Aerohive application.
The AP are not public accessible to plug in a cable and mounted up high.

Can you please explain why this has happened or is it a bug in the FW ?

Client with iPhone and it is shown as Wired.

Device Model:  AP1130

AP: ver 4.0.6

HiveOS Version: HiveOS 6.4r1g.2138

We have experienced several occurences either with audroid device or iPhone.

What information do you need more?

Tomas,

Is the AP is connected to an Aerohive switch or BR? If it is please disable station reporting on the switch and check again.

We received the same report before and the problem went away after upgrading the HM to 6.6r3.

Thank you,

Eastman

Hello,

The APs are connected to a cradle point router. We will look into updating the APs as we are seeing this issue on more than one AP in different locations.

Just so we're clear, updating the APs to 6.6r3 would prevent users from obtaining a network connection via cable?

Kind regards,

Nathan

You need to update the HM to 6.6r3 at least, not the AP.

Hello,

Is this just a flaw in the reporting as I don't see how it's possible for a phone to be connected to an AP by cable?

Regards,

Nathan

it is an issue on the HM when displaying the clients. It is fixed on HM 6.6r3.
