Hi , We are using Aerohive AP1130 Hive OS 9.0R1.161337. Is it possible to only used specific 5Ghz Channel spectrum? We have certain channels which we could not encroach on e.g. 100, 108, 116, 124, 132. We wish to use other unused channels.
Advise greatly appreciated

Are you using HiveManager 6/Classic or NG?

If you are using NG:

1.  Click on the Monitor menu.
2.  Click on the access point you want to exclude channels on.
3.  In the left hand pane click on "Interface Settings" under "Configuration".
4.  Click on the "WiFi0" or "WiFi1" tab.  With the AP1130 "WiFi0" is the 2.4 GHz radio while "WiFi1" is the 5 GHz radio.  Some Aerohive access points, such as the AP250 and AP550, support dual 5 GHz radios so in this configuration the two tabs would represent a unique 5 GHz radio.
5.  Ensure the "Channel" drop down menu is set to "Auto".
6.  Enable the "Exclude Channels" option (the option under the "Channel" drop down menu).
7.  Select the channels you want the radio to select from.

If you find the channels are not what you expected ensure that the country code setting is correct, the DFS setting is correct (in the radio profile assigned to the radio) and the access point is approved for use with those channels in your country.

8.  Click on the "Save" button.

We are not using NG.    If upgraded to NG, there is a cost which we are trying to avoid.

The upgrade cost should only be in time as, to the best of my knowledge, HiveManager Online licenses can be transfered to NG at no cost.

I will make the educated guess that you are using a HiveManager Online (HMOL) which is based on the HiveManager 6/Classic code.

To exclude 5 GHz channels you need to use a CLI Supplement:

1.  Click on the Configuration menu.
2.  Click on Advanced Configuration in the left hand pane.
3.  Click on Common Objects.
4.  Click on CLI Supplement.
5.  Click on the New button.
6.  Fill in the Name and Description fields.
7.  In the CLIs area enter:
int wifi1 radio channel exclude 100
int wifi1 radio channel exclude 108
int wifi1 radio channel exclude 116
int wifi1 radio channel exclude 124
int wifi1 radio channel exclude 132
8.  Click on the Save button.
9.  Click on the Monitor menu,
10.  Place a tick in the checkbox of one of the AP1130 access points.
11.  Click on the Modify button.
12.  Expand the Advanced Settings area.
13.  Click on the Supplemental CLI drop down box and select the newly created CLI Supplement.
14.  Click on the Save button.
15.  Repeat steps 10 to 14 for each of the AP1130 access points.

Notes:

You need to enable Supplemental CLI and this is done at Home -> Administration (left hand pane) -> HiveManager Settings -> Enable Supplemental CLI.

After you have applied the Supplemental CLI to each AP1130 you will need to do a complete configuration update on the AP1130s.  Supplemental CLIs only apply after a complete configuration update.
