A costumer calls to tell his AP makes a really loud alarm sound. Anyone had this before?
In the hivemanager, no problems.

No, it will be a UPS that is in physical locality to the AP, or something else entirely. The APs cannot produce such a sound. A UPS will tend to do this when its battery is end of life and needs replacing or there is a mains power fault.

Hi, there is no UPS, it's hanging on the ceiling. When the AP is unplugged, the sound stops.

Can it be the power injector?

I don't believe its the AP. Could you check the power injector?

Could be a capacitor going bad.  They tend to sound awesome up until they pop...

I doubt you would mistake that for an alarm sound though, Matt! :P

True - but to someone who isn't familiar with the inter-workings - the loud squeal could sound like an alarm.

Jens, the silly question is, can someone take the device down, and plug it in elsewhere (think: desk) and see if the sound continues?
