Hi

I have a problem in one of my HMOL setups. In Home/Administration/Administrators the Administrators tab is missing however the Admin Groups tab is present.  See below

I suspect this setting was moved when someone enabled ID Manager on this HiveManager.  The new location for the "Administrators" setting is likely to be found under http://myhive.aerohive.com/ > Login > MyHive > Admin Account Manager.  The link to Admin Account Manager is shown in Figure 3 (below).

Figure 1: Screenshot Taken from HiveManager without ID Manager Activated
Note:  Administrators is present when IDM is not activated

Figure 2: Screenshot from HiveManager with ID Manager Enabled
Note: "Administrators" is gone (relocated) in this HiveManager with IDM Enabled

Figure 3: myhive.aerohive.com - New location for Admin Account Manager
Note: New home of "Administrators" is "Admin Account Manager" in MyHive

I hope this helps!

OK so how do I disable ID Manager? Surely it's not the same as the ID Manger in your screenshot? This is for guest user management, not administrator management. I want to create administrators manually.

Once you have enabled ID Manager, even if you remove it later, the Administration\Administrators\Administrators menu option is lost.  I had this at one site that enabled the ID Manager trial, decided it didn't do what they needed, and removed it but they permanently lost the Administrators menu option.  To get it back I had to create a new HMOL and re-enter the entire configuration.

I raised this issue with Aerohive Support but they didn't see it as a bug.  I certainly do.  It is my view that when you remove a service, such as ID Manager, then the HMOL should be returned, within reason, to the state it was in when the service was enabled.

Thanks Crowdie. I'm not sure it's just when the ID Manager trial is enabled. Maybe when the HMOL account is set up initially there is an option to enable this? Some of the sites I have administered have had this and others don't, but it will always appear there with an HMOL update. How did you create a new HMOL? I have erased the database and started from scratch, but no change to the option in question. It seems to only be when there is the ID Manager option on the landing page.
