Additional monitoring information through the HiveManager API and SNMP.

I'm currently monitoring Aerohive access points through the HiveManager API for:

* Number of clients connected per AP.
* The status of the AP as reported by the HiveManager.

This is interesting information but our networking team would really like:

* Retries (too high).
* Airtime (percentage).
* Client device SLA compliance.
* Traffic per radio.

Please can you tell me if I can get this stuff through the API already? I had a look but it doesn't seem to be there. Would you consider adding it please?

Or can I use SNMP? If SNMP, if you could give me the OID's if you have them handy please?

I know you publish the MIBs, but it would save me a lot of SNMP pain and would really be appreciated!

The trouble with connecting directly to the APs, is that my monitoring would need to work out information that you've probably already calculated in the HiveManager.

I suppose this is really a feature request for more to be added to the API...

Can you tell me what the best way is to get the information out please?

Thanks for your help.

did you found a solution for that kind of monitoring?

Kind regards,

Julián, no I hadn't/haven't done anything there.
Nick, that sounds really good thanks. Do you know when that will be available? We've had a trial of NG but haven't migrated to it yet. This feature could be a good reason to speed up our plans.
