802.11ac Wave 2 Preparation with AP250

Our company plan to get ready for 802.11ac Wave 2 by upgrade some of our AP230 to AP250. However, any special POE Switch (SR2124P or higher) we needed to purchase ? Our Network Infrastructure already using CAT6, which should support 100m of NBaseT.
However, I didn't see any special information on SR2124P talking about NBaseT.
Moreover, for some small office floor, we'll use POE Injector. Should we need to consider buying Cisco MultiGiga Switch ? Will AP250 eth0 & eth1 support NBaseT ? Thanks again!

Hello!

No, the AP250 does not support NBaseT. It is totally unnecessary.

In reality, the perceived need for NBaseT for wireless is Cisco marketing fluff dreamed up to try to sell more new switches, when in the vast majority of cases a Gigabit backlink will not get saturated. The limiting factor is nearly always elsewhere, usually in the air.

Ruckus, one of our competitors, put up a great blog article explaining why:

The same applies to Wave 1 and Wave 2 802.11ac.

Nick

Thanks Nick for the reply. Then we'll go ahead for AP250 + SR2124P, and using the current SR2024P approach for etherchannel Dual 1G port link between SR2024P and our Cisco L2/L3 Switch, thanks again!

Andrew von Nagy explains this extremely well in his "Gigabit WiFi: Not So Fast" webinar at http://www.revolutionwifi.net/revolutionwifi.

I see your new title Nick.  Have you sold your soul to the vendors? :-)

Any switch that is rated 802.3at (PoE Plus) should work with the AP250.
