"Free AP" Management License Expiring

I received an AP121 on the "Free AP" program a few years ago. I work for an Aerohive partner, and they gave us 3 units to hand out to engineers when we initially set up our partnership.  I use the AP as a test bed, and frankly also use it as my main wireless AP at home. I do still work with the product in my job, I like it, and I'm kind of the "evangelist" for the product in my organization.

Well, the three-year license for managing my personal AP is ending in May, so I contacted Aerohive support to see what I can do when it expires. Their answer is that licenses in the "Free AP" program are good for 3 years and not renewable in any way, and that I should inquire with our Aerohive sales rep about NFR equipment. (We already have NFR equipment that I have access to on an as-needed basis, so that really doesn't help me.)

Posting here just because I wonder if anyone has had any luck getting Aerohive to make exceptions and get an extension on "Free AP" licensing. I don't want to waste my time trying to go through other channels if its just not gonna happen.

(Also, I am aware the AP will continue to work when licensing expires, and that I could still configure it through CLI.)

It may be possible to move it to an on-prem license if you're using that version of Hive Manager, but no guarantees.
